Refined Photographs

This photograph relates to the theme 'Traces (Time) and Faded (Memories)' as it displays a moment in time but shown abstractly with multiple images overlaid, created by using a slow shutter speed, showing how memories can become blurred or poorly recognisable, but it also displays intense movement and vivid colours and seems bold, just as a memory of such an event stands in my mind. It also shows literal traces across the image as the subject moved across it.
This photograph relates to the theme 'Traces (Time) and Faded (Memories)' as it shows again traces of movement and motion blur and displays through its bright vivid colours and light how a memory can be emphasised and seem brighter in the mind and various other emotions felt that day lost.
This photograph relates to the theme 'Traces (Time) and Faded (Memories)' as it displays one of my favourite current artists, Miles Kane, performing. The out of focus subject and the more detailed foreground show how the feeling of excitement and vibrancy create a stronger memory than perhaps the actual song that was being played at the time. Also shown is people taking photographs to remember the event.

This photograph relates to the theme 'Traces (Time) and Faded (Memories)' as it shows a bleak landscape of the school, a memory often forgotten, as the stillness and silence is often replaced by happier, vivid memories of friends and enjoyment and activity filled with colour and warmness of electrical lights.
This photograph relates to the theme 'Traces (Time) and Faded (Memories)' as it shows the cross in "Parc Guell" in Barcelona with the sun high above the cross. This is a strong memory for me shown in the vibrancy of colour and bright light and strong solid shapes. Also the meaning of the cross that is shown has faded and is often forgotten despite the millions of tourists that visit and photograph it, climbing on its platform purposely built by the park's strongly religious designer, Gaudi. Placed on the highest point by design to be seen from any point in the park and to be nearest to God.
This photograph relates to the theme 'Traces (Time) and Faded (Memories)' as it shows the Mies Van Der Rohe Barcelona Pavilion, built for the 1929 International Exposition and then taken down once the exhibition had finished and put into storage. It was photographed and remembered as one of the greatest examples of minimalist and modern design. When rediscovered in the 1980s it was rebuilt in exactly the same place.
This photograph relates to the theme 'Traces (Time) and Faded (Memories)' as it shows a reflection, almost displaying the scene and the memory of such beside one another, the memory showing a soft, slightly blurred and over contrasted/emphasised version of the truth.
This photograph relates to the theme 'Traces (Time) and Faded (Memories)' as it displays a turntable playing a record, with the needle tracing the grooves and reproducing a sound, an example of recording, similar to the way a memory can be recalled by the mind retracing electrical impulses through neurones, but similarly memories and records can be distorted  and fade with time as the more frequently they are 'played' the more they change or crackle. It also relates to the theme due to my father remembering all of the records he owns, and as I am now discovering these 1950s 'Rock and Roll' singles that he discovered in the Eighties and his parents heard the first time around it is as if the memories are fading only to be renewed by the next generation.
This photograph displays to the theme 'Traces (Time) and Faded (Memories)' as it firstly shows physical traces of light dragging across the image, it also displays movement and people despite seeing neither directly in the photo, it displays association and how the brain uses the memories that still exist to make assumptions on the other occurrences. Also to an extent this photograph mirrors the photograph above as it displays similar shape and shares light and dark areas showing how two completely separate memories can seem similar or overlap in the mind if they have vague similarities.
This photograph relates to the theme 'Traces (Time) and Faded (Memories)' as it depicts my brother with an expression of boredom despite the beautiful scenery that is shown before him, this juxtaposition is an example of how clarity of memories and time passing slowly and having little effect can lead events to become tedious and disinteresting.
