Below is the poster art for the 1927 film ‘Metropolis’, after
discovering this piece I am inspired to create an image in a similar style, the
poster itself has strong influences of Art Deco as well as Constructivism, it
is monochromatic which emphasises the shape of the subject matter and avoids
distraction, it also reinforces the futuristic image created. Below is another
poster for the same film, this in a similar style but permitting the use of a
small amount of colour to emphasise the text within the piece as its shape
conforms more with the background.
