Mat Collishaw’s ‘All Things Fall’

Of all the pieces I observed at the Walsall Art Gallery, one creation stood out to me as incredibly impressive. Mat Collishaw’s ‘All Things Fall’ was created in 2014 using material including: Aluminium, LED Lights, Motor, Plaster, Resin and Steel. It’s dimensions are 200cm x 200cm x 200cm. The piece was based upon depictions of The Massacre of the Innocents'. It was created using a 3D printer and took around 6 months of work and involved creating over 350 character figures, environment elements and architecture. Below is a photograph of the piece beside a video depicting its movement.
