John Stezaker Inspired Collage

The image above was created by John Stezaker. His work re-examines the varying relationships between the photographic images: as documentation of truth, purveyor of memory, and symbol of modern culture. In his collages, Stezaker appropriates images found in books, magazines, and postcards to create new, abstract and often humorous compositions.

The image above is a scan (converted to black and white to better suit the original style) of a collage I have created in the style of Stezaker. I believe the image I have created to be effective as it suitably mimics the style of the artist and is created using the same medium in the same method as he did. Notably I have also took influence of his style of pushing the boundaries, which he did via cross-gender collage, which I have expanded to cross-species to further the satirical nature of the image and keep the intentions behind the image and ensure it does not look dated. Below is a photograph to display the collage from a more dramatic angle and display its lack of texture to allow for an honest image.
