The image above was created by Jose Romussi. He creates
collages through a process of stitching on top of elements in a photograph to
give an impression of movement and life within the image, furthered by the bold
colour used in comparison to the dark monochromatic photograph used before.
The images above is a scan of the piece I created in Romussi’s
style and below is a photograph of the same piece to display it from a
different angle to give a more dramatic perspective on the over-stitched
detail. I believe it is an effective recreation of his work although the
photograph used displayed less movement than the ones used by the artist, I used
the stitching to emphasise the little movement there was, creating an effective
and expressive image.
