The image above was created by Michelle Caplan. Her belief
is that her portraits bring life to photographic history, each piece with its
own narrative; trying to tell the story of the person behind the image. It can
represent a link to a family’s past and provide a visual legacy for its future.
The image above is a scan of a collage I have created in
Caplan's style, I believe it to be well balanced and give and have focal points
directing focus to the face of the subject which I have printed upon the
initial collage, the only notable difference between the collage I have created
and any originals by Caplan is her use of personal affects and documents to
make up the collage, of which I have none relating to my great grandmother who I
have chosen as the subject matter. To amend this in future I would use a more
recent relative, perhaps one still living, of which I could gain pieces to make
up a more relevant background for the printed photograph.

What is your technique! I cant figure it out LOL Thanks in advance for any help, even a workshop!
